LYNCH AND HS2 'FIRSTS'

First Hybrid Excavator delivered to HS2

22T Kobelco Stage 4 Hybrid Excavator

  • First Stage 4 Hybrid on the project
  • 90% reduction of harmful emissions
  • 20% reduction on fuel usage
  • 8% Load Volume increase per hour

First Full Electric Excavator to HS2

Lynch are proud to have supplied the very first Full Electric Excavator to HS2. This excavator has improved the working conditions within an enclosed area by eliminating the emissions and toxins usually released by an equivalent diesel unit. An exciting innovation and the first of many full electric excavators we are certain to see on the project as the variety of plant becomes larger.

  • 100% reduction in emissions
  • Six hour operation time
  • Zero Vibration
  • Reduced Operational Noise

First Dual View Dumper to HS2

The Dual View dumper has quickly become regarded as the safest and best practice dumper available to the market and where better to place the first units than the biggest project in Europe.

First new MT625 Comfort Telehandler with Stage V engine to HS2

The MT625 Telehandler has always been one of the Manitou’s most popular machines and Lynch with have now supplied the first working MT625 fitted with the latest Stage V engine to HS2 London Euston. This machine meets the new emission laws which are due to be legally enforced in London by 2020.

Plus introduction of wide range of electric vehicles to protect the air quality.

Lynch have introduced other new electric machines to the HS2 project in order to cut emissions, protect the air quality and generally reduce the carbon footprint of the project. These include track barrows, loading shovels and people carriers.

Leading the way on data support

Lynch is leading the way with data support. Using our telematics systems we have been checking our HS2 sites for a number of months in order to capture their emission figures and so help further reduce on site pollution.

The extract below from Jason Bicknell, CSJV LEAN Practitioner acknowledges these efforts:

"The Lynch team arranged and attended meetings on site which included their Operations Business Analyst Emery Roosburg who very quickly understood our requirements. Lynch was able to provide a suite of information over varying time periods. They were also very responsive to data requests and adapted their standard reports to suit our needs a number of times throughout the project. Lynch seems to be at the forefront of this new technology"

The commitment to safety shown by Lynch is second to none and is why I always feel confident in my projects with their plant on site
